Brevard Now Has Something to Roar About

The lion trio has arrived to the Brevard Zoo and have a birthday right around the corner. They were officially visible to the public in their temporary habitat located in Wild Florida on May 1, 2022.

The brothers were born on May 14, 2019 to a first time mother, Shani at the Naples Zoo. Shani and her mate, Masamba were matched by the Association of Zoo's and Aquariums' (AZA) Species Survival Plan (SSP), which if you do not know, is basically a large dating network through AZA zoos.

One of three lion brothers whom are new to the Brevard Zoo stays cool in the shade on their platform of their habitat.

The brothers have not been here even a week and still getting acquainted to their new home at the Brevard Zoo so do not be suprised that right now, they are laying around and getting used to new sights, sounds and their surroundings.

The Brevard Zoo hours can be find at https://brevardzoo.org/visit/ .
